You can buy the best clothes and accessories, however, if you don't take care of yourself first then you're only making that expensive wardrobe look cheap.
1st of all basics of hygiene is a must. When it comes to extraneous hair(for the Guys), schedule time to trim your nose hairs and other body hair. Keep regular salon appointment(3 to 6weeks depending on the hair styles & yes, this applies to the Ladies as well. But for the Ladies, slighty longer intervals can be taken for those with long locks, if not, no exceptions) to keep yourself from becoming lazy with your hairstyle. For the nails, don't forget the regular upkeep. Oh & yes, skipping a shower is simply not allowed. The importance of a second shower before going anywhere in the evening should never be forgotten. You may have showered in the morning when you wake up but seriously, your going out at about 4pm & your not getting your second shower before going out? You sure about that?
2nd, Wash your face PROPERLY!(This applies to the guys but maybe applicable to certain Ladies as well)
Yes, gentlemen, they actually play an important role by keeping your face and skin healthy. Modern men cannot live by soap and water alone lest you end up with cracked and broken skin. They might be called men’s cosmetics but the following three items form the foundation of healthy grooming: cleansers, toners and moisturizers. A cleanser will go beyond simple soap and remove the dirt and grime that build up in your pores during a hard day. A toner tightens your skin making it tougher for the elements to penetrate, while a moisturizer keeps your skin hydrated. Dry, cracking skin allows germs and dirt into your body (Is that what you want? Didn’t think so). Clean, taught and hydrated skin is your first line of defense against the outside world. Seriously, I have so many guys friends that don't believe in SkinCare. They wash their face with Shower Gel(OMG! Yes, shower gel) dehydrating your face badly, don't even apply moisturizer after that(of cause, they're too lazy to even get a proper facial wash & I'm expecting moisturizer?) & I have friend who DON'T even wash his face!(Yes! he don't believe in washing his face, he just wipe them with water) Seriously, do you still want your face?
3rd, Exfoliate, help your skin rejuvenate itself by removing dead skin cells and debris with an Exfoliator or a Scrub(but personally find scrubs too harsh on the face) You don’t have to do this everyday, a few times a week will do the trick. For deep exfoliation, you could use an exfoliating mask that goes on soft and hardens while soaking up the debris on your skin.
Finally, use a perfume or cologne, & make sure you choose the right one for yourself.
Firstly, you have to understand Perfume's structure. All perfume have 3notes, Top note, Heart note & the Base note.(nope, this has nothing 2 do with your singing notes) Top note is the scent that evaporates first right when you spray on, it last around 10 to 15mins(there are some exceptionally long lasting ones that last for up to 30mins), Heart note that develops a little later & finally the Base note reveals itself.
Don't try more than two scents at a time; you simply won't be able to make a judgment. Spray a spot and don't rub it, you will spoil the composition. Wait for ten minutes allowing the base note to develop before making the decision. Sometimes the base note can take hours to develop. It is a good idea to get a sample and make the purchase the next day.
Don't buy a perfume simply because it is the launch of the season. Check it and see if it really appeals you. After all, you have to walk around with it the whole day. You buy perfumes for yourself and not for people. Any perfume that satisfies you will reflect well with your personality.
You don't have to wear a perfume like a uniform! Try different brands and class of scents. You can use different smells for different times of the day or for your different moods.
Lastly, If you have sensitive skin you should avoid the less expensive mass-produced colognes that contain additives. Stay with organic producers with heavier scents fit for dry skin tones.
